About Me
When people ask for a quick bio, I tell them that I'm a speaker, writer and dreamer who tells stories that need telling in order to motivate others to change the things that need changing.
What does that look like? Great question.
It means that right now, I'm working with The Climate Project to launch a new initiative aimed at young people in order to mobilize them to help solve the climate crisis. I use a lot of what I've learned over the past three years as co-founder and President of Cool People Care, a media and lifestyle company that connects people who want to make a difference with opportunities and resources to do just that.
In 2007, I published my first book, New Day Revolution: How to Save the World in 24 Hours. This year, I wrote another book about how nonprofits can use social media better.
Want to know more? I've been married for five years. I live in Nashville, where I grew up (but where I never thought I'd be post-college). I make time to have brunch with my wife, parents and sisters each Sunday morning. I participate in a church that meets in my home. I travel a lot and am fascinated by airports and hotels (my first real job out of college was with a hotel company). And come January, I'll be a dad. All of these experiences - from working for a nonprofit to wanting to be a fantastic father inform what I write about. You can keep up with my thoughts on how to do something meaningful and remarkable with your one precious life by subscribing to my blog here.
And, if you'd like to know more, want to grab a coffee when I'm in your town, or you'd just like to shoot me an email, you can do that. I'll write back. I promise.
