If you’re in pursuit of perfection, don’t join a community. (It won’t take you there because perfection isn’t it’s goal.)
If you’re in pursuit of mediocrity, don’t join a community. (It can’t take you there because mediocrity isn’t what it’s about.)
But if you’re in pursuit of progress, by all means join a community. This is its very purpose.
