Fear shows up uninvited; courage only when asked.
In an new situation, fear comes along, daring you to give in and retreat to where it feels safer and less risky: alone.
But if you ask, courage will show up, too. It usually comes in the form of other people, namely deeply community.
And because it brings others, it always stays. Fear soon leaves, off to find someone else it thinks it can trick.
But courage stays.
