Empathy gets you farther than jealousy.
While someone else’s accomplishments can be motivating, jealousy makes the journey less enjoyable. “Why can’t I be like them?!?” you rant.
On the other hand, empathy lets you travel lighter. “I wonder what all they did to get there?” you ask.
Deep community helps root out jealousy and instead embraces radical empathy. Better to walk a mile in someone’s shoes than just wish they were in your closet.
