I really try not to give a crap about political commercials. They stir controversy by slinging mud and nothing is off limits. Knowing that the messages can appear distorted, racist, sexist and mean, I tune them all out and base no political decisions whatsoever on what I hear from the TV.
But, I just have to comment on the two most recent Bob Corker commercials I've seen. In these spots, his wife and daughters make references to Bob being funny and making them laugh.
Comedy 101: You do not become funny when someone says you're funny. You're only funny if you actually are funny.
Politics 101: Funny does not win votes.
There's one more debate on Saturday night. I say let's turn it into an improv session and see who can leave us in stitches before they leave the state in shambles.
