Brain Snacks 019: No one plants roots
The main character in the Lifetime movie quit his job to move to a small town and “plant some roots.”
The only problem with this (other than that you’re watching a Lifetime movie) is that no one plants roots.
You don’t walk into the garden center and ask for a bag of roots. You ask for a bag of seeds.
You don’t plant roots. You plant seeds. Those tiny, fickle, plentiful seeds that take a while before you know if your digging and watering and care was worth it.
Plant seeds. Wait. Grow roots. Sprout buds. Cut flowers. Harvest fruit. Enjoy the shade. (There is no other order and there are no shortcuts.)
Roots take time, which is why you can’t plant them. They’re the output; not the input.
But once cultivated, they’re unstoppable.
