Brain Snacks 023: The speed of a question
Job interviews. First dates. Game show lightning rounds. Networking events. All of these lend themselves to fast questions, rapidly fired (sometimes back and forth) until the list is complete or someone is exhausted.
It can make for good TV but it’s a terrible way to actually get to know someone.
I prefer the slow questions, the ones that make you pause a beat and think before answering.
It’s time we care less about the speed of our questions and more about the depth of our answers.
You can go fast or deep. But not both at once.
