Silly Dreams are Those You Don't Dare to Chase

Don't let someone tell you your dream is silly. What you may want to do could be unconventional, out of the ordinary, or just plain weird. But it's not silly unless you never dare to chase it down.

A lot of people would deem Mike Mika's dream silly. Why would someone want to reprogram the Donkey Kong video game so that the princess rescued Mario instead of the other way around? And why would an accomplished programmer like him want to spend time doing this?

Because his daughter asked.

His three-year old daughter asked why she couldn't play the game as the princess. Mike didn't have a good answer. So, he got to work.

And the end result is awesome.

My three year old daughter and I play a lot of old games together. Her favorite is Donkey Kong. Two days ago, she asked me if she could play as the girl and save Mario. She's played as Princess Toadstool in Super Mario Bros.

Many of our dreams are borne out of our love for others. How could that be silly?
