The Possibility of Liminality

The word liminality is a fancy way of saying that one is "in limbo" (the two are related). It's that weird spot in between something - you've left where you were but haven't quite arrived at where you're going.

While such liminality can be stressful, it's also the precise point of possibility. Many times, we don't get a chance to see what's possible in this great big world until we venture from the friendly confines of our own routine.

Letting go of the familiar is scary. But possibility only emerges when we're willing to climb up that hillside. Possibility, it seems, isn't visible from our normal or the everyday.

If you want to get to that place of possibility, the route takes you right through liminality. You can't miss it.
