Deep community takes time. In fact, it may literally take forever.
Fast community is often built by skipping vital steps, compromising safety, and forcing a level of meaning that many aren’t ready for. As a result, any bonds that may seemed to have formed will erode away as quickly as the community appeared to be built.
The community that is built fast fades fast.
On the other hand, the community who takes time to define what it means to include others, who establishes thoughtful guidelines and norms so all members feel safe when vulnerable, and who does the work of creating experiences that offer growth and meaning - that community lasts exponentially longer than the time it took to set those parameters in place.
How long will this take? Half as long as you want to last.
