Chance and Circumstance

If you find a $20 bill on the ground, you may think it's your lucky day.

But that means someone is missing $20. Someone's pockets are lighter and just maybe, their circumstances are suddenly a bit more dire.

Your lucky day can't come at the expense of someone's terrible day.

Yes, good things may happen seemingly due to chance or circumstance. But if such circumstance is a disadvantage to someone else, press pause on your rejoicing and do what you can to re-balance those scales. Don't let someone's mourning be the cause of your celebration.

Instead, save your parties for those moments when you've worked hard to earn something, when accomplishment is tied to your initiative and not someone else's mistake.
