The leader or parent or spouse implores the other person or group of people to "Stop being unreasonable!" And with the most optimistic of hopes, they then lay out their case to convince the other to think differently.
Of course, it's tough to reason someone out of a position they did not reason themselves into.
But more importantly, we need unreasonableness in our lives, in the appropriate doses at the appropriate times.
So instead of always trying to convince someone to simply be unreasonable, push them deeper into their unreasoning. As long as no one is being harmed, you might just need someone's crazy, their passion, their dreams, their heart, and their risk.
It's in those unreasonable moments that great things can happen. Push carefully next time instead of trying to pull someone to where you'd like them to go.
