Workplace engagement is at an all time low as more than 2/3 of employees now feel disengaged at work.
One of the best ways to change those odds? Connection.
Often, someone is only disengaged at work because they’re disengaged from the community that’s possible there. No connections to peers. No relationships with supervisors or subordinates. No community taking deep root and helping them find and pursue a higher purpose or mission.
Create flexible work environments. Improve the perks and challenges. But don’t do that without also focusing on the connections and community made possible by a common workspace or company.
People don’t leave hard jobs. They leave lonely ones.
