Remember when people traveled? Me too. Good times.

A fun phenomena to whet your travel appetite is the concept of Everyday Carry. Sites and pictures are dedicated to people showcasing their stuff that accompanies them everyday (whether going to the office or crisscrossing the country). Things like phones and pocketknives, journals and cameras, lucky totems and water bottles.

I often wonder what’s unseen, though. Who’s carrying regret or greed? What about hope and heartbreak? Or ambition and pride?

I bet those things are way heavier than anything you can stuff into your pockets, even if you’re not leaving home much these days.

It’s okay to unpack those. The heaviest things we carry everyday are those things we can’t take pictures of.
