Brain Snacks 009: The morning after the night before

I don’t wake up in the morning and then decide what workout I feel like doing. I decide the night before and write it down.

I don’t decide each morning if I feel like doing the boring and tedious work (i.e., spreadsheets) later that afternoon. I pick a day the week prior for my “paperwork day.”

If I only choose to do hard stuff when I feel like it, I’ll probably never feel like it’s time to do the hard stuff. But if I commit to it before I feel like it, then it’s harder to go back on. I’ve already decided. It’s time for the work. Let’s get busy. The calendar says so.

Amateurs do the work when they feel like doing the work. Professionals do the work because it’s time to do the work.
