Brain Snacks 013: Stretch
The benefits of stretching your muscles and body are myriad: increased flexibility, improved muscle performance, less stress, a stronger body.
But after you work your quads and hammies, don’t forget to stretch that all-important muscle: your brain.
Consider a different viewpoint, read a book by an author from an underrepresented group, watch a show that will make you learn something new, investigate how something works, deep dive a podcast about a subject you know little about.
Only reading tweets from people who agree with you, watching that sitcom for the seventh time, stocking your shelves with white authors - none of this develops the mental dexterity you need.
If it doesn’t lead to flexibility, it leads to atrophy.
