Legacy = reputation x time
When a reputation (current opinion of you or your community) is repeated for a while, a legacy (lasting opinion of you or your community) is developed.
Bad news: when a story is told enough times for a long enough time, your legacy is set.
Good news: there is still plenty of time to start telling a new story about you, your work, and your community.
